This is a shot of a Great Blue Heron I took in 2008, of which I stumbled upon again in my archives this evening. I decided to augment the shot to reflect photography as when color was just being introduced some 100 years ago or so. I have always had a fondness for this basic look ever since I started looking at National Geographic at a young age and was mesmerized by the pictures printed within.
This particular Great Blue was an oddity, in as such that he paid little heed to my presence, and allowed me to get extremely close to photograph for almost an hour before tiring of me.
