Beware the Robber Fly Cometh

Imagine seeing critters our size that looked like this (Yikes) Scary thought huh? I guess we should be thankful that most insects like this emerald eyed Robber Fly prey on other unsuspecting insects, and not us humans. The Robberfly is a top predator in his class, and takes great pride in being able to snag a flying passerby like a Bee or Wasp in mid-air, bring it to an abrupt stop, and stab it with its formidable mouth piece, and well........you know the rest of the story:)

You're Late For Tea

While traveling in Wonderland (Oklahoma), over the weekend, I came across a Jack Rabbit hiding within the great expanses of grasslands that seemingly go on forever in this part of the country (USA). The Jack Rabbit is actually a Hare, much larger than a Rabbit, and have powerful hind legs allowing them to outrun many predators thinking them an easy meal.

Friday Night Macro Shot

Macro photography can be very frustrating at times, especially when it seems you have prepared very well for a shot and it still is not coming out like you want it to . Well, this tiny hunting Spider was no exception, however after many adjustments and shots taken, I finally got an image deemed to be a keeper. This particular Spider was about 1/2" in size and liked to keep on the move.

As I was cruising the city parks, I ran across the "Quacker Gang" looking to do no good. I could see the leader was giving me a thorough once over, and I instinctively decided to give them a wide berth to avoid any trouble. To say the world has gone to the ducks would be an understatement:)
